How do I configure my Bruce Telecom dialer to use 10 digit dialing?
 
 

Setting up your Bruce Telecom dialer to dial 10 digits:

1. Double click on the My Computer icon with your left mouse button. 9x_mycomp.gif (613 bytes)
2. Double click on the Dial-Up Networking icon with your left mouse button. 9x_dun.gif (2249 bytes)

3.  Click on the Bruce Telecom icon
with your right mouse button. 

Note: The name of your connection icon may not be called Bruce Telecom.

 



4. Click on Properties with your left mouse button.

5. Click in the telephone number  field before the Bruce Telecom dial up number. Type in your area code before the current telephone number.

Remove the checkmark in the box that reads "Use country code and area code" Click "OK"

1. Click on "Start", highlight "settings"
2. Click on "Dial up Networking"

3.  Click on the Bruce Telecom icon
with your right mouse button.

Note: The name of your connection icon may not be called Bruce Telecom.

 



4. Click on Properties with your left mouse button.

5. Click in the telephone number  field before the Bruce Telecom dial up number. Type in your area code before the current telephone number.

1. Left Click on start button in the lower left hand corner 
     of your screen

2. Left Click on the icon labeled Network and Internet 
     Connections. 

     *Note:  Users using the classic view will skip this step and 
     go directly to step 3.

3. Double click with the Left mouse button 
      on the Network Connections icon.

4. Right Click your Bruce Telecom icon and Left Click on 
     the properties option from the drop-down list. 

Note: The name of your connection icon may not be called Bruce Telecom.


 
 

5.  Under the general tab, make sure the box labeled 
Use dialing rules is unchecked. 

Type the area code in FRONT of the phone number. Click  "OK" 
 
 


Macintosh
 
 
 
 
1.  Open the PPP dialer by clicking on the Apple, then Control Panel, and then PPP.

2.  Click in the Number field before the current phone number you dial to connect to Bruce Telecom.  Insert your area code before the number.

Note: The name of your connection icon may not be called Bruce Telecom.

3.  Click the close square in the upper left corner of the PPP dialer.
 

You will be asked whether or not you want to save the changes.  Click SAVE and your ten digit number will be saved.

Macintosh OS 10
 
 
 
 
1.  Click on the Apple in the top left hand corner of your screen. Highlight  location, and click on Network Preferences.
2.  Click on the PPP tab at the top. Click in the Telephone Number box
3.  Ensure the cursor is in front of the dial up phone number. Type in your area code.
After your area code has been entered, Click Apply Now.




 
 
 

Your computer will now dial the 10 digit number each time your computer dials up to Bruce Telecom
